How to get to Cooperstown / Oneonta
By Automobile
Otsego County is located in the south-central part of the state. Cooperstown is centrally located in Otsego County, 70 miles west of Albany and 30 miles south of the NYS Thruway (1-90).
From the west, follow the NYS Thruway to Exit 30 at Herkimer/NYS 28. Follow NYS 28 East to I-88 Exit 17. Follow I-88 West to Exit 15 and follow signs for the SUNY Oneonta campus.
From the east, Thruway Exit 29 at Canajoharie (Rts. 10, 20 and 80) or Thruway Exit 25A and take I-88 to West to Exit 15 and follow signs for the SUNY Oneonta campus.
From the south, take I-88 East to Exit 15 (Oneonta) and follow signs for the SUNY-Oneonta campus.
From the southeast, take the NYS Thruway (Rt. 87) to Exit 21 at Catskill. Follow NYS 23 West to Oneonta and follow signs for the SUNY Oneonta campus.
By Bus

By Shuttle

By Air
Major airports are located in Albany, Syracuse and Binghamton. Otsego County is served by two small airports:
